Can I call a TollFree number from another country?

The simple and honest answer?

In most cases, no.

Here’s why:

Toll-Free and UIFN (Universal International Freephone Numbers) were designed to work only within their designated country or region. That means a UK Toll-Free number is only guaranteed to work when dialled from within the UK. The same applies to any other country's Toll-Free numbers.

This isn’t a 'restriction' from Voyced, it’s a 'limitation' built into how Toll-Free systems were created from the start.

Our systems will always try to connect the call, regardless of location, but due to these technical and regulatory boundaries, the call is very likely to fail when dialled from another country.

What can you do instead?

  • If you’re the caller:
Try dialling from a number based in the same country as the Toll-Free number.

  • If you’re a business with a Toll-Free number:
To offer a great customer experience across borders, we recommend adding local numbers (Geographic/National DIDs) in each country where your clients are.
These numbers give your business a local presence, are very cost-effective, and they’re guaranteed to work for your customers in those regions.

Alternatively, you could add standard numbers for foreign clients in countries where you don’t yet offer Toll-Free or UIFN numbers, giving them another reliable way to reach you.
