Is it also possible to call using Voyced on a SmartPhone, without WiFi?

Yes, you can absolutely use Voyced on your smartphone without WiFi.

As long as you have a working mobile data connection (3G, 4G, or 5G), you can connect your SoftPhone app to our Hosted IPPBX and use your Voyced number just like you would on a desk phone or PC.

What do you need?

  • A SoftPhone app (like Groundwire, Zoiper, or Linphone)

  • A mobile data connection

  • Your Voyced SIP account details

Once set up, you can make and receive calls using your VoIP number, even when you’re away from WiFi, ideal for remote work, travel, or full mobile flexibility.

1. Using your regular mobile provider’s data

You can use your existing SIM and mobile plan, but be sure to check:

  • Is VoIP traffic allowed? Some mobile networks may restrict or degrade SIP-based calls

  • Do you have enough data? A VoIP call typically uses 0.5–1 MB per minute

  • What about roaming?

    • Roaming with your mobile SIM can be very expensive, especially outside the EU

    • Some providers block VoIP while roaming

    • Check your provider’s rates and rules before using data abroad

2. Use a Voyced Roaming eSIM

If your smartphone supports eSIM, Voyced offers a Roaming eSIM solution that works in almost 200 countries.

  • Keeps your SoftPhone connected on the go

  • Avoids roaming surprises from your regular SIM

  • Ideal for travel, remote work, or global businesses

  • Runs alongside your existing SIM, no need to remove it

Explore our Roaming eSIM options here

3. Use a Voyced OfficeSIM (Physical SIM)

If your phone doesn’t support eSIM, no problem.

Voyced also offers the OfficeSIM, a physical SIM card that works in many countries and is fully compatible with VoIP usage.

  • Works in phones that don’t support eSIM

  • Offers reliable mobile data and voice where supported

  • A great solution if you want an all-in-one mobile setup for VoIP, data, and travel

Contact us to find out if OfficeSIM is available in your region and fits your needs.

Which option is best?

Option Good for Things to check
Regular SIM Basic VoIP use at home or locally Data allowance, roaming limits, VoIP restrictions
Voyced eSIM Frequent travellers with eSIM phones Easy, flexible, low roaming risk
Voyced OfficeSIM Phones without eSIM support Business-friendly alternative with physical SIM
