Does the Voyced platform support: TLS

Yes, the Voyced platform does support TLS (Transport Layer Security).

TLS can be added to your account on request.
Just contact us, and we’ll enable it for you.

What is TLS?

TLS is a security protocol that encrypts the signalling layer of your VoIP calls, the part responsible for call setup, registration, and control messages.

In simpler terms:
TLS helps keep your VoIP account details, call commands, and number data private when they travel between your device and our Hosted IPPBX.

What TLS does:

  • Encrypts SIP signalling (the setup and control part of a VoIP call)

  • Helps prevent man-in-the-middle attacks or unauthorised access to call setup information

  • Secures registration details like your SIP username and password

  • Works together with SRTP (for media encryption) in secure VoIP setups

What TLS does not do:

  • TLS does not encrypt the actual voice/audio stream, that’s handled by SRTP, which is supported by Voyced in passthrough mode

  • TLS also doesn’t work alone, it needs to be supported by your VoIP device or software (e.g. phones, softphones, PBXs)

To benefit from TLS, both your side and our platform need to support it and have it enabled.

How to enable TLS on your Voyced account

If you’d like to use TLS:

  1. Contact us via a support ticket or email

  2. We’ll enable TLS on your account

  3. We’ll provide the correct connection details and ports

  4. You can configure your VoIP device accordingly

We’re happy to walk you through the setup if needed.

If you're unsure whether TLS is right for your setup, or if your equipment supports it, let us know, we're here to help.
