Call in ‡ / Calls in (with SBU)

What does it mean?

At Voyced, we believe in offering reliable, high-quality service for every client. That’s why we take system integrity seriously and do not tolerate any form of misuse or abuse.

You may see a note on certain services like ‘Call in ‡’ or ‘Calls in (with SBU)’. This refers to our version of a Fair Use Policy and is there to prevent any one user from negatively impacting the service quality for others.

Why is this important?

Inbound calls, just like outbound calls, generate real cost, bandwidth, routing, and network infrastructure all play a part. For most Standard telephone numbers, Voyced does not charge for inbound calls* as long as Standard Business Use (SBU) applies.

SBU simply means there should be a reasonable balance between inbound and outbound usage. A business using the number in a typical way will naturally meet this condition. The small margin on outbound calls helps cover the inbound traffic.

However, if a number is used in a way that significantly exceeds what’s considered normal usage for that account type (for example, a high volume of inbound calls with little to no outbound usage), we may need to step in to review, warn, and in rare cases, restrict the account. This is to protect the network and other clients' quality of service.

Looking for Inbound-Only options?

If you know you won’t be making many outbound calls, our Inbound-Only numbers are likely the better choice. These numbers are:

  • Designed for primarily receiving calls

  • Billed with a small per-minute inbound rate to cover actual costs

  • Free from outbound balance requirements (though you can still make outbound calls if needed)

Need help deciding?

We’re always happy to help you find the right solution. Just reach out to our team for advice or a custom quote tailored to your call usage and business type.

Let’s make sure you’re set up for success, with the right number for the right use.
