How does it all work with a Toll-Free/FreePhone DID?

A Toll-Free or FreePhone DID is a special type of business telephone number where the caller doesn’t pay for the call, the receiving party (you) covers the cost instead.

These numbers are ideal for:

  • Customer service lines

  • Sales or enquiry hotlines

  • National support numbers

They are usually only reachable from within the country they are issued in and are often found in ranges like 0800, 0855, etc. (but this varies by country and local telecom rules).

Inbound Calling, What’s included?

Each Toll-Free DID includes 10 inbound tracks by default.
This means up to 10 people can call you at the same time without hearing a busy tone.

If you expect more concurrent calls, you can easily add:

  • Additional inbound tracks in steps of 10, 50, or even 100

  • This allows you to handle large call volumes, especially useful for campaigns or national numbers

You’ll see these options represented by the black and blue arrows on the left side of the image.

Outbound Calling, What’s included?

Toll-Free DIDs also include 10 outbound tracks as standard (see the black arrow and “10” at the top).
You can add more outbound capacity at any time:

  • ✅ Add 10, 50, or 100 extra outbound tracks depending on your needs

  • Shown in orange arrows above the Hosted IPPBX in the image

This ensures that your team can place outbound calls smoothly, whether it's callbacks, campaigns, or support follow-ups.
