The following article outlines how to submit a porting request to transfer a DID to be hosted by Voyced.
The following steps are fundamental to begin the porting process:
- Obtain the Number Porting Letter of Authorisation from Voyced
- Complete and sign the Number Porting Letter of Authorisation and return it to Voyced
- Voyced will then process the request and provide you with a completion date
Obtaining the Number Porting Letter of Authorisation (LoA) from Voyced
All these can be downloaded here (only available to download once ordered): Porting forms
Note: If there isn't a specific one for the country you are requesting, please use the 'Voyced International Porting Letter of Authorisation and Consent: Generic'
With this form, you will actually give us permission to initiate the porting request.
Completing the Number Porting Letter of Authorisation
This is an example/generic explanation as each country may require slightly different information.
Do make sure you fill out all required information as not doing so will likely mean that the porting request will fail/be rejected.
1. Losing Communications Provider (Losing CP)
This is the current range holder of the DID(s), this is not always the current bill issuer.
For example; XLN often acts as a reseller of BT, so, instead of entering XLN here, you should enter BT.
If you are unsure of whom the current range holder is please check and verify with your current provider.
If need be, we may be able to provide a "best guess" at the Losing CP for some countries but this is not assured information and therefore we can make no promises of, and accept no responsibility for, its accuracy and this will add several days to the process.
2. Gaining Communications Provider (Gaining CP)
This field is prepopulated with the address of Voyced. (If not for some reason, than this should be us)
3. Customer Details
This field must contain your customer details exactly as they appear on the most recent bill.
Usually the billing address is equal to the installation address, though it is not uncommon for these to be unrelated. If you are unsure about the address that is associated with the DID please check and verify this with your current provider.
This section should also contain the DIDs that you wish to port.
If a DID is a part of a consecutive range, then numbers should be listed as follows:
- 442035000200 - 442035000209 (10)
If they are not, then they should be listed individually, with their line type indicated.
For example:
- 442035000202 (single-line)
If a number has associated numbers but is not a part of a consecutive range, then all of its associated numbers must be submitted in the same port request.
Typically, these would be considered multi-line numbers:
- 442035000202
- 442035000412
- 442035123236
4. Signature and Name
Once completed, the form must be signed, named, and dated.
Submitting the Port Request to Voyced
Once you have completed the Number Porting Letter of Authorisation, submit it to Voyced Support via the ticketing system.
The best way to do this is as a reply to the order ticket, as described above (Obtaining the Number Porting Letter of Authorisation from Voyced).
If there is no such existing ticket yet or if you need to start a new ticket, please use the following subject example to format your email:
Number Port Request - 442035000500 - ABC company Ltd
The body of the ticket should contain the porting details such as customer name, address, numbers to port etc...
The following information is for UK Numbers only.
As each country has its own process and cost associated with that process.
Costs and Fees for UK numbers
(prices correct as on publication date: 01/01/2021)
We do not profit from porting costs or fees, we simply pass the cost on and they are as follows:
Standard porting of a single DID (geographic or non-geographic)
£10 p/number on top of the regular setup cost.
Subsequent porting of a single DID (geographic or non-geographic)
£20 p/number
A subsequent port will be necessary if a DID has been ported previously, from BT to TalkTalk for example.
Porting again requires some additional administrative work.
We will notify you if a subsequent port is required, after receiving the Number Porting Letter of Authorisation, but before processing the porting request.
Standard porting of a DID range or collection of associated numbers (geographic or non-geographic)
£10 p/number
Rejection fee stemming from incorrect data submitted to Voyced
£20/number/per porting request
Additional fees may be applied if a DID proves particularly time-consuming to port.
We will notify you of these charges should they become likely during the porting process.
Setting/Changing a Port Date
Before submitting a port, you can request a desired port date.
This should typically be greater than 7 working days after the port has been submitted.
Additionally, you can request a change to the confirmed port date though this must be requested no less than 72 hours before the current confirmed port date. Any requests after this point may not result in a successful date change which means that the port will go ahead as originally planned.
Additional Notes
Porting non UK DIDs
The above information is only applicable to UK DIDs.
DIDs for other countries will need to be billed and dealt with on a per request basis and for many countries this process can be started by ordering the desired port from our Standard DID ordering system.
Please see the Standard DID ordering overview or contact Voyced Support for more information.
Legibility
Please note that if we deem any part of a Letter of Authority being illegible we may have to reject the request and ask for an updated copy
Signatures
All signatures on a LoA must be uniquely printed.
This means that, if we suspect screenprinting, forgery or copy and paste of a signature, this will be treated as porting rejection as mentioned on the LoA.
