We are going to upgrade the Voyced platform to the next stable version.
In order to improve the upgrade procedure and reduce risk, the upgrade process consists of two parts that will be performed in 2 successive off-peak periods.
Service Affected: Step 2 involves
- update the Database (during this period all services will be stopped)
- permanently reboot to the new partition
- apply the new configuration
Impact: Major Impact
Start Date: Sunday, 8th of May 2016, 01:00 AM (GMT+1)
End Date: Sunday, 8th of May 2016, 06:00 AM (GMT+1). We will, however, strive to keep this as short as possible.
Status Report: Service Status
Description:
The main downtime occurs during the Database update. The servers will be rebooted several times. During the Database update and server reboots, Hosted IPPBX and SIP services will be down. The downtime for this second part of the upgrade can take up to 4 hours. SIP servers will be prioritised to minimise downtime on calls. Since the configuration server will be updated to new release during the 1st stage, the logging features might (temporarily) be affected.
We thank you for your patience and understanding and apologise for the inconvenience that this may cause. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact our technical support team.
Kind Regards
the Voyced Technical team
Update:
All SIP servers and services are back up, so all phone calls are going through just fine, but there is an unexpected issue with the web interfaces. We are working to get those back up a.s.a.p.
Update:
Access to the web interface has been restored and with that, all client related services of this update seem to have been completed and working correctly.
Please do let us know if you still seem to have issues reaching it.
Update:
Some clients have reported some SIP registration issues and / or issue with receiving calls.
Due to the redesign of SIP components of the Hosted IPPBX, the “auth_realm” parameter was changed.
In case your UserAgents / Phones have difficulties with registration (most probably they keep a cached value), restarting the equipment might be needed.
Essentially, if you are encountering any registration issues with SIP user agents, we would strongly recommend that your first action would be to restart the affected device.
That way the device should register all anew and loose any possible incompatibility with this new implementation.
If this doesn't solve the issue, please let us know so we can investigate further.
Update:
Although we have tested the upgrade extensively before we actually implemented it, there seem to be some unforeseen issues with the new Unified Messaging system.
In this update, the entire UM engine and some of the logic has changed and in all the tests we ran and all the scenarios we tried, the update worked as expected.
However, we are now working very hard to locate and solve any issues as we understand that is very undesirable behaviour.
If you experience any problems with forwarding, the UM or general things not working as expected in the web interface, we would recommend clearing out all the caches (both browser, this needs to be done, and machine, if you can) and try again. If you still can't get it to work, send us an E-mail or start a ticket explaining what you are trying to do and to which account / DID and we try to do it for you.
This will also help us pinpoint any affected areas and services so that we can focus on those to start with.
We do apologise for any inconvenience caused but regretfully this is really unforeseen and we are working tirelessly, with the manufacturer of the software, to get all issues solved a.s.a.p.
Update:
Some clients have reported that they still have intermittent issues with reaching the web interface of the Hosted IPPBX.
We are investigating and solving these on a case by case basis so please let us know if you still come across any issues as they may be specific to your situation at this point and we are on standby to solve these as quickly as we can.
We do apologise for any inconvenience caused for all those that have run into some kind of trouble, however small.
